Grace Zhou

My name is Grace, and I’m extremely honored and excited to serve as your President for the 2017-2018 school year. I began my FBLA journey as a freshmen, with numerous mentors in the organization who reached out to me and became my role models. It was the first place I felt truly welcomed and comfortable — it’s become my second home. MVFBLA has this amazing way of bringing people together and creating connections where you don’t even expect them, and it’s these connections that you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

In the past three years I’ve had the opportunity to compete in Entrepreneurship, Global Business, and Management Decision Making — all of which I’ve gained invaluable lessons and experiences from that have made me the leader and individual I am today. Not only have I learned simple business concepts, but I’ve also learned to work even harder after failure and to adapt in the hardest and most unpredictable situations. It hasn’t always been a pleasant ride, but the bumps in the road only make downhill even more freeing and amazing.

Outside of MVFBLA, I love to read science fiction novels, randomly sing and hum old Taylor Swift songs which I learned all the lyrics to in middle school, and make weird voices and accents! I love, love, love spicy foods and just all food in general, and I get super weird cravings such as apple cake with green tea ice cream. I’m super open to meeting new people and it’s always been something I look forward to, so don’t ever be afraid to talk to me whether it’s about FBLA, school, or anything else!

William Hsu

Executive Vice President

Hello! My name is William Hsu, and it's my pleasure to be your Executive Vice President for this school year! For me, joining FBLA has been one of the best and most defining choices of my high school career. I've learned so much and grown not only as a competitor but as an individual as well.

When I first joined came to Monta Vista, I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect. After finding MVFBLA, it was clear that it was the niche I was looking for. Not only has FBLA taught me a ton of business knowledge and helped me develop leadership and public speaking skills, but it's also given me some of my closest friends.

Although FBLA is my life, I try to stay involved in other activities as well. Some of my hobbies include photography, graphic design, and volunteering. Outside of FBLA, I also participate in Debate and CSF, as well as various other clubs on campus. You can probably find me at Monta Vista sleeping in class or in the library!

Looking back, I can honestly say FBLA is one of the best experiences I've had. The diverse set of people in FBLA creates so much opportunity to form unique relationships you can’t find anywhere else. From competing and going to conferences to meeting and hanging out with new friends in the MVFBLA family, it's been an incredible journey that I hope you'll join me on. Feel free to talk to me at any time (I’ll probably be up if it’s the middle of the night) if you have any questions, need advice, or just want to talk – I can’t wait to get to know all of you!

Claire Chang

Vice President of Operations

Hi everyone! I’m Claire and I’m really excited to be your Vice President of Operations for the 2017-2018 school year! FBLA has been a huge part of my life these past years in high school and has been at the root of countless laughs, memories, and friendships. During my time in FBLA, I've competed in Parliamentary Procedure, Business Ethics, and Partnership with Business Project, which were all great learning experiences that I’d be happy to share my experiences about anytime. Besides FBLA, I also play volleyball and participate in Speech and Debate. Some of my favorite things to do include binging Netflix, embarrassing friends at restaurants, pretending to follow my diet, and taking long, satisfying naps! Feel free to ask me about anything — whether it’s related to FBLA, school, etc. because I’m always ready to help and I can’t wait to meet all of you!

Arya Jawadekar

Hello everyone!!!! I am Arya Jawadekar and I will be serving as the Secretary/Treasurer for the upcoming school year. Last year I competed in the Parliamentary Procedure competition, and made memories that will last a lifetime. I met amazing people who have influenced my life, and have made lifelong friends. I also got to learn a lot on my journey to Nationals in Anaheim. FBLA has allowed me to come out of my shell and helped me learn important life skills. Apart from FBLA, I love to make cupcakes (Find me during finals week, I usually make cupcakes sometime then), and I also dance. If you have any questions or even want to talk, please feel free to approach me. hope to have an amazing year and meet all of you incredible people!!!

Ananya Krishnapura

Director of Conferences

Hey everyone! My name is Ananya, and I’m so excited to be your Director of Conferences for the 2017-2018 school year. As a member of FBLA from my freshman to now junior year at MV, I can honestly say that this organization has supported me throughout high school in ways that I would never have imagined. It's a one-of-a-kind experience that's helped me to grow as a competitor, student, and individual. From cramming at study sessions to anxiously rubbing oranges at conferences, I've never once regretted this unbelievable journey!

Outside of FBLA, I love to read anything I can get my hands on in my free time, (whether it be magazines, books, or short stories) and, of course, surf YouTube.

Feel free to approach me with any questions you might have about FBLA or even MV ^_^ . See you around!

Daniel Duan

Director of Conferences

Hey guys! I’m Daniel, and I’m your Director of Design for this school year!

I joined FBLA last year, and I can honestly say that I it was one of the best decisions I made in high school. FBLA is very different from other clubs on campus. Not only can you interact with business professionals all around the country, learn vital speaking skills applicable to many real-life situations, and achieve competitive success, but (and this may sound a little cheesy) FBLA is also a very warm and welcoming place ^__^. The charismatic members never fail to lighten up the mood, and they have definitely made my time in high school awesome.

Outside of school and FBLA, I loVE listening to all kinds of music that have lyrics, mindlessly surfing reddit, swimming, and binge-watching TV shows (if you love Rick and Morty then I <3 you too). You’ll probably run into me at some point this year, so when you do feel free to come talk to me about anything on your mind!

Victor Ho

Vice President of Marketing

Greetings, everyone! My name is Victor Ho and I am the VP of Marketing. This year, I am a senior at Monta Vista.

I joined FBLA in my sophomore year, and the only thing I regret is not joining sooner. My favorite part of FBLA honestly has to be the amazing people I’ve met through it. Sure, the competition is exciting, and conferences are always a blast, but the group of colorful and unique individuals in FBLA is what makes it so much fun. In one year, I have made so many new friends and amazing memories that I will never forget!

Outside of FBLA, I enjoy eating and sleeping, reading, playing games, running, drinking water, hunting for Pokemon, talking with friends, and sometimes even talking with strangers (but not the sketchy strangers you see in dark alley ways, stay away from those!!). If you see me around campus and come by and say “hi” or talk to me about whatever you want! Unless you don’t want to, then you don’t have to.

Dylan Geva

Director of Activities

Hi everyone! My name is Dylan, and I'm super excited to be the Director of Activities this year.

I joined FBLA in my freshman year, and it has played a huge role in my life ever since. My experience in FBLA has been full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade any part of it for anything, not even the downs. FBLA has given me something I can be passionate and active about at school, which is all too rare to come by. After getting involved in the club, I knew immediately that this is the place that will let me enjoy the next four years.

Outside of FBLA, I love to hang out with friends, play games, and play games while hanging out with friends. I also love to meet new people, so if you ever see me around, feel free to say hi or talk to me about whatever! I can’t wait to get to know you all

Ethan Lin

Director of Public Relations

Hi guys! I’m Ethan Lin and I am stoked to be your Director of Public Relations and Middle Level this year! I’m a sophomore this year and am super excited to begin my second year of FBLA.

Last year, FBLA has created for me a multitude of experiences and friends for me. At my first conference, I was thrown into a room with 2 people I didn’t really know (shoutout to Teddy and Billy), but now, they are some of my closest friends. And while the competitions are fun and educational, the best part of conferences and FBLA in general is the fact that you get to travel and explore new places with your friends. One of my fondest memories I have is when one of my friends and I went running around Sacramento in jammers (tight swimsuits that aren’t quite speedos) in search for the hotel gym which ended up being located outside for some reason =_=. But no matter what examples you use or who says it, FBLA is truly a four-years- out-of- a-lifetime- experience! Outside of FBLA…Oh wait, I have another “interesting” story! At the Nats conference in Anaheim, I brought a large box of Shin Ramen, and one of my friends *cough cough please don’t kill me ted cough* had to dilute the soup with water an unreasonable amount times.

Outside of FBLA, I’m an avid swimmer for PEAK, ramen addict, classic rock listener, eater, sleeper, and Asian cul… GO-YCA officer. But if you ever need anyone to talk to about swimming, ramen, school, or pretty much anything, feel free to find me around campus uhhh… somewhere. I still need to find myself too… whoops. See you around!

Gill Wang

Director of Membership

Hey guys! I'm Gill Wang and I'm the Director of Membership for the 2017-2018 school year. I'm a current senior, excited to finish off my last year in high school and make the most out of my FBLA journey with old and new members.

Outside of FBLA, I enjoy swimming for the Monta Vista swim team (and swimming is practically the only sport I can do). I love to spend my free time with my friends and my family, whether it's just staying at home or hopping on a BART to San Francisco. I spend a lot of time with children at Chinese school and at my mom's daycare. Their innocence and carefree spirit never fail to put a smile on my face. I'm also the type of person who sleeps ALL the time (which sometimes is very annoying). My favorite food is sushi, and while a lot of people dislike sashimi (raw fish), that's one of my favorite seafoods!

I competed in Business Plan two years ago and in Social Media Campaign and Partnership with Business last year; since then, FBLA has become a big part of my life. I found a family, with a set of people who are all talented, caring, and unique. I didn't have much confidence when it came to presentations, but FBLA helped me overcome that. Not only will you be able to learn business and presentation skills, you will also be able to have lots of fun and build new, memorable relationships. Feel free to talk to me about anything, and I look forward to meeting you! ^___^

Emily Su

Vice President of Projects

Hi everyone! I'm Emily, and I'm stoked to be your Vice President of Projects for the 2017-2018 school year. Being part of FBLA for the past three years has been such an incredible life experience, and I am sure that you will soon feel the same way. Outside of FBLA, I love to swim, hike, and just be outside with my friends and family. I have also started teaching myself how to take photos and make (in my opinion) AWESOME videos, which has allowed me to meet so many new people. With that, feel free to hit me up on Facebook or at school to talk about whatever, whether it's FBLA-related or otherwise! ^___^

Pratya Poosala

Director of State Projects

Hey guys, I am Pratya, a sophomore this year, and I'm super excited to be your Director of State Projects for the upcoming year! :)

Joining FBLA in freshman year is definitely one of the best decisions I made, because I got to meet a lot of awesome people and got an exposure to what it's like working in the business world. Last year, I competed on the Emerging Business Issues team and I'll never forget the anticipation of rubbing oranges for luck at the States awards ceremony and waiting for our name called. FBLA has provided me with an endless amount of opportunities and experiences, and it definitely will for you too!

Outside of FBLA, I enjoy reading and writing stories. Making an impact on the community is honestly something that I aspire to do one day, which is why I joined Projects :)

I can assure you that FBLA will always be a crazy ride filled with its ups and downs, but there will always be people cheering you on the whole time. With that being said, if you have any questions or simply want to chat about something, please feel free to talk to me! :D

Neha Dasari

American Enterprise Project Director

Hey guys! My name is Neha Dasari and I'm super excited to serve as your Director of American Enterprise Project for the 2017-2018 year. I joined FBLA my freshman year after hearing amazing things and it has filled my last three years with incredible experiences, opportunities and memories. I genuinely hope you'll be able to see why I love FBLA and develop your own love for it! ;)

Outside of FBLA, I love to waste time, watch TV, listen to music, and hangout with my friends. I also love meeting new people and making friends so don't be afraid to say hi around school or come to me with any questions about FBLA or anything!!

I'm excited to meet you all and can't wait for this year of FBLA :))

Billy Yang

Partnership with Business Project Director

Hi my name is William Yang, but everyone calls me Billy. I'm a sophomore this year, and the partnership with business project director.

Anyways, FBLA is one of the best things that happened to me and I'm so glad to be able to learn and grow in this wonderful community.

For partnership with business this year, we're going to be partnering with Facebook, so that will be quite exciting! We will have many interesting events and activities this year so be sure to come to each one! :)

Outside of FBLA, I play piano, badminton, and taichi mostly, as well as work on many different projects. If you want to have a conversation about piano or other Asian things feel free to talk to me!

Trudie Ngo

Community Service Project Director

Hello! My name is Trudie Ngo and I am so excited to be your community service project director this year! I have been in FBLA since freshman year and it was such an amazing experience for me. I have received so much help from the officers last year, which had helped to provide a positive environment. This has really inspired me to continue the club as an officer and a loyal member. I love meeting new people and socializing so please come talk to me anytime with fun stories, jokes, or even when you are stressed or bored. I'm an outdoors girl and enjoy hiking/camping. If I could be anything, I would be a tree because I love to grow and learn from new opportunities!???

Theresa Lee

Vice President of Competitions

Helloo! My name is Theresa Lee, and I'm so excited to work with all of you guys this year as your Vice President of Competitions. I joined FBLA during my sophomore year, and it has been such a special experience for me — I've learned so much about working with others, making new friends, and paving my way through this mess we call high school. It’s been real, FBLA, and I want to make this year special for all of you guys, too.

Outside of school and FBLA, I love singing and playing the ukelele poorly, listening to random songs, going on long walks with my two dogs, Coco and City, and pigging out with my friends. I have also been playing the cello for 7 years, and I have competed at the national level. This year, I am part of classical string sextet!

Now that you know a bit about me, I want to get to know all of you! Don’t be afraid to come up to me at school, say hi, and ask questions about anything — not just about FBLA or school, because I know from personal experience how confused new members can be. I’m looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you, and let’s make this another great year for MVFBLA

Gautham Dasari

Director of Team Impromptu Competitions

Hi Guys! My name is Gautham, and I’m a junior at monta vista. I look forward to being your Director of Team Impromptu Competitions. I've been a member of FBLA for two years, and it has without a doubt been the most rewarding part of my high school experience. Through FBLA I have met some incredible people and made some unforgettable memories. One of the most memorable memories was during my sophomore year at the State Conference. During that conference I got to meet players from the NBA team the Houston Rockets, and what made it even more exciting was that many of the players even stayed in the same hotel as us!

Besides FBLA, some of my hobbies include playing sports, spending time with friends, and watching movies. I also love spending time outdoors and exploring nature with my friends and family.

Hopefully all of you also join MVFBLA and make some great friends and memories just as I did. I am looking forward to seeing all of you join FBLA. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me, and I will be glad to help!

Darren Kopa

Director of Team Prejudged Competitions

Hi guys! I'm Darren, and I'm the Director of Prejudged Comps. Joining FBLA my sophomore year, I didn't know if I would be successful at all. I was quickly reassured, however, when I learned that FBLA offers a huge variety of events to compete in, even for a farmer like myself! This club has given me so many opportunities to meet and work with some of the most amazing people, and I've learned so much from them. Outside of FBLA, I am also involved in MV Leo and DesignIt. I love meeting new people, so make sure that you say hi to me if you see me on campus! Even though you might (commonly) see me around in a Deca shirt, I promise I am a very loyal FBLA officer!

Ted Chai

Director of Individual Oral Competitions

Hey Everyone! I’m Ted and I’m excited to be serving as your Director of Individual Oral Competitions. I’ve had countless amazing experiences with FBLA, from standing on stage in front of 13,000 people to running a mile in the rain to get pizza. Competing has taught me so much about business, public speaking and stress management. Attending conferences and being part of the MVFBLA culture is a great break from school and is something I’ll always look forward to. Through FBLA, I’ve met some of my greatest friends, strongest competitors, and most incredible mentors. I’ve had a great experience with FBLA, and I hope you’ll feel the same!

Outside of FBLA, I spend my time reading about business, doing community service, and arguing about politics. I also like to waste horrendous amounts of time chatting on Messenger or watching Netflix. Feel free to talk to me if you have any questions, just want to chat, or listen to more of my stupid FBLA stories!

Barry Qi

Director of Individual Objective Competitions

Hello! I’m Barry, and I will be serving as the Individual Objective Competitions for the 2017-2018 school year. Of course, FBLA has played a huge role in my high school life. Joining FBLA was definitely one of the most irrational and regretful decisions I have ever made, but I’m glad I did. The countless hours of practice, Messenger games, and food outings have been some of my fondest memories. Although I have (questionably) yet to say I’ve learned a ton about business itself, I have been able to make connections with new people, travel across the country, as well as work in a competitive yet thrilling environment.

Outside of FBLA, I am also the treasurer for debate, and I enjoy walking for miles at a time and getting good food with friends. Please come talk to my desperate self if you ever get the chance to :).
