Angela Gu, President
Hi Everyone! I'm Angela and I am super excited and honored to serve as this year's Monta Vista FBLA President as well as California FBLA State Vice President and Bay Section President! I joined FBLA on a whim after some very ecstatic 2010-ers convinced me to join in on the fun and as cliche as it may sound, this organization has truly shaped my high school experience in not only building my leadership and professional experiences, but also in developing long-lasting friendships from all over the nation.
Previously, I have had an amazing time competing in Business Plan, Emerging Business Issues, and FBLA Principles and Procedures. I have also held the position of Secretary-Treasurer and Bay Section Secretary. From competing with a strong set of teammates and newly formed friends to traveling to Anaheim, Nashville, and Atlanta, these past few years have been incredible with the opportunities FBLA has provided through its leadership conferences.
During my free time, I love to watch reruns of Gilmore Girls, cry and laugh over Asian dramas, play badminton, and pretend to be good at singing! I can assure you that FBLA offers something for everyone and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about FBLA or just about life in general :) I hope you join us in the national theme, "Breaking Barriers" with FBLA this year!

Richard Yu, Executive Vice President
Hi Monta Vista FBLA, it's my honour to serve as your Executive Vice President for the 2010-2011 school year. In that office I conduct planning with the President for the future of the chapter, write the Local Chapter Annual Business Report, oversee the Operations division, manage alumni relations, and a myriad of general duties.
I joined FBLA in my freshman year when I learned about all the technology competitions that FBLA offered, and it was probably the best decision I have made. Over the past three years FBLA has been the definitive experience throughout high school. In addition to going to three years of awesome conferences, I've met some of the most amazing people I know through this organization. Prior to this year I served as the Director of Technology, and competed in Internet Applications Programming, E-Business and Website Development. Some of my greatest memories are playing cards until 4AM in the morning at conferences, making the LDI flashback video which featured one of our officers one too many times, and Rickrolling all of Northern California FBLA (success!)
When I'm not preparing budgets or driving around town rushing to get things shipped and printed, you can find me owning it up on Call of Duty, hitting 'Random Article' on Wikipedia, and obsessing over Korean music and movies. If you have any questions feel free to ask me any time, and I wish you the best in the upcoming year and hope to get to know each and every one of you.

Laura Yang, Manager of Activities
Hello Monta Vista FBLA! This is your manager of activities, Laura Yang! I am super excited for the new people and new opportunities that this year will bring. I had the honor of serving as your manager of individual competitions this past year, and I am certain that this coming year will be just as great. I look forward to meeting all of you, so don't hesitate to introduce yourself or ask questions.
I joined FBLA freshmen year because I was hooked by the first member meeting, and I have only gotten more addicted since then (: FBLA is simply amazing; be sure to do competitions, get involved in projects, and come to lots of events. I promise you will have lots and lots of fun :D
Aside from my obsession with FBLA (and parliamentary procedure aka parli♥), I enjoy devouring old books, curling up to watch cheesy movies, dozing off in the afternoons, Facebook-stalking people, and applying social psych theories at inopportune times. Do come and say hi, I won't bite :]

Larry Xu, Manager of Technology
Ah hey! I'm Larry Xu, and I am this year's Manager of Technology. I'm currently a sophomore and just joined FBLA last year. Best decision ever, by the way. I've had a lot of fun experiences in FBLA including the LDI, Bay, States, and Nationals conferences. Oh, and I will always remember the epic all-nighters.
I help out with anything tech-related, from maintaining the super special awesome website to helping out tech competitors and projects. Past competitions that I have competed in are Intro to Tech Concepts, Tech Concepts, and Management Information Systems. So I pretty much have only done tech competitions, go figure.
When I'm bored I usually just chill on my laptop or Xbox 360, both of which have consumed endless hours of my meager existence. My favorite pastimes are attempting to beat my record at Robot Unicorn Attack and chilling with my fellow officer Nikitas on Borderlands, like a boss. Anyways, I hope you come chill with me and the rest of FBLA this year!

Ryan Chui, Secretary-Treasurer
Hey! I'm Ryan Chui and I'm going to be your Secretary - Treasurer for the 2010-2011 school year. First off let me just say that joining FBLA was one of the best decisions that I have made in high school. From conferences, to competitions, to events, business tours, guest speakers, and the awesome people you meet, FBLA has mostly if not entirely defined my high school experience.
As the Secretary - Treasurer I have the duty of making sure that we have enough money in our account to last the year, take minutes at all FBLA officer meetings, as well as provide assistance wherever else it is required.
But apart from FBLA I am heavily involved in school events such as float building, poster making, and rally set up. I am also an athlete on the hurdle and mile relay teams for Track and Field. Once you get to know me I am a really chill person and I hope you join FBLA and have one of the most experiences you've ever had.

Nishad Joshi, Manager of Public Relations
Hello people! I'm Nishad and I'll be serving as your Manager of Public Relations this year. I joined FBLA at Kennedy, but wasn't very active. After I got to Monta Vista I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. This year I'll be in charge of making sure that you members are getting the most you can out of FBLA. I'll be head of the local chapter board of advisors. I'll also be in charge of making sure we get the publicity we deserve. If you would like to be a part of the the local chapter board of advisors or just have any suggestions for FBLA please do not hesitate to contact me.
Over the course of my high school career I've taken Principles of Business, Marketing, and Money and Banking. All three courses have been really fun and helped me with my FBLA events. I've competed in Parliamentary Procedures, Business Presentation, Business Communication, Sports Management, and Computer Applications.
Other than FBLA, I'm also in ASB Leadership and in charge of the Freshmen Introduction Program (Link). I've been lucky enough to surf, snorkel, and zipline (maui!). I also love to snowboard. In my free time I love driving around, playing videogames, and hanging out with my friends. The best thing about FBLA is networking. I hope to meet you in person soon!

Laura Liu, American Enterprise Chair
Hey guys! My name's Laura and I look forward to seeing you guys in FBLA, whether it's at a conference, study session, or even an American Enterprise event! I joined FBLA in freshman year after hearing about it during Club Day and it's been a ton of fun ever since. The wonderful feeling of completing a project, having teammates in a competition, and getting on stage to accept your award ( first place? ;D) can only be experienced through FBLA.
I've competed in Management Decision Making and Community Service Project, and although they take a lot of time and effort, I assure you that the rewards are great! From frantically memorizing acts to finalizing a 30-page report in a week, I must say, I have certainly learned a lot, whether it be business or time management.
When I feel like relaxing, I like to watch comedians on Youtube (hey! they're funny >.<), Gchat with my friends, and watch Disney movies (my favorite movie is Up!). I'm not scary at all so feel free to ask me any questions about this year's American Enterprise project, or even FBLA in general. See you around!

Nikitas Kanellakopoulos, American Enterprise Chair
Hey everybody! I'm Nikitas Kanellakopoulos, your American Enterprise Project Chair. Some of you may know me as Panos' little brother, and to those people, don't ever call me that. ever.
This will be my 5th year in FBLA [(yes i did it in middle school!)<-- haha thats what she said] and I am LOVING it so far. My favorite food is orange tic tacs and my favorite activity is playing Borderlands on the xbox 360 with my badass fellow officer, who is a total badass, Larry Xu, the badass.
Other things you should know about me, I am Greek, not Jewish, I am also 2013's Class VP, and I love Ryan Chui with a passion that is as hot as Ryan Chui.
Thanks for tuning to my biography and I hope you come again! That is, if you wanted to further solidify your knowledge of me, which perhaps is inspired by your deep and secret love for me, in that case, call me.

Peter Choi, Partnership with Business Chair
Hey MVFBLA! My name's Peter Choi and I am your PwB Chair with my super-cool-walnut-partner, Minolee Vora. I'm so glad to be serving on the projects position because I have been involved in projects since I was a freshman! As a junior at Monta Vista, I've learned many things from my experiences in school, leadership and of course FBLA. I started FBLA in 7th grade so this will be my fifth year as a FBLA member! Just like Minolee, I was also a DECA member as well, so if you want to discuss your decision between FBLA or DECA or just other questions about that, feel free to ask both of us! (but obviously we know that you'll come over to the FBLA side eventually >:] ) Competitions are also something that I am very passionate about. Over the years, I have competed in Job Interview, Community Service Project, Marketing and Management Information Systems.
Aside from FBLA, I have been a very active swimmer for about nine years. If you can't find me because of my obscene profile picture then you can just watch out for any white haired old freak with an obnoxiously loud laugh.Don't be afraid to come up to any of us with whatever kind of questions, comments or just about anything! We'll be happy to chat with you guys!

Emily Wong, Community Service Chair
Hello! I'm Emily Wong and I'm proud to be this year's CS Chair along with Angela Wang. I joined FBLA because of all the warm and friendly faces welcoming me, guiding me through academic, business, and personal dilemmas. I've made countless new friends from all over the country through competitions, as well as a stong family-like bond with my previous team (I am honored to say I was a part of last year's Parliamentary Procedure team.) Not only did we become great friends, we placed second at Bay Section and States, and finally was honored with fourth in the nation. I was also awarded second for Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure at the state level. When I'm not reading RONR or working on our CS project, I'm usually out with friends and family, or on my computer talking to my friends and family. Let's face it, I'm a people person. I sing and play volleyball for fun, and I sink a lot of my time into school activities such as our Leadership program, collecting stories for Verdadera, or doing community service for Octagon. But just a secret between you and me? FBLA is one of my favorite organizations and I'm so excited for an amazing year!

Srilakshmi Ramesh, Director of Competitions
Hey FBLA! I'm Sri, and I take care of all things competitions. In my past 2 years in this lovely organization, I've competed in written, team and chapter events. As a freshman I competed in the Management Decision Making team event, and sophomore year I went to Nationals for both the FBLA Principles Procedures written event as well as the Partnership with Business Chapter Project. This past year, I competed in the Business Financial Plan team event and went to Nationals in Nashville! I can honestly say my most valued experiences throughout high school at MV has been nationals these past two years -- simply the best and most fun experience anyone could ask for!
I'm really not intimidating (physically or otherwise) so you should have no trouble talking to me if you want to! I love to dance and be OCD about my email, and tend to sit funny and write with my left hand. If you have any apprehensions about joining FBLA or FBLA comps, please talk to me first :) I hope you decide to join (and come to Nats with us in FLORIDA!) See ya later!

Joanne Xu, Manager of Team Competitions
Hey MVFBLA! I'm Joanne and I will be your manager of team competitions. =) I have found FBLA to be awesome, and I hope you do as well! Since joining, I have been inspired to achieve things I wouldn't've imagined achieving otherwise, and have also met some amazing people. Work hard, because I guarantee that getting on stage at Nationals will be an exhilarating experience.
I have competed in, and have extensive knowledge of, Banking and Financial Systems, Emerging Business Issues, and Business Law. If you are doing any of these competitions definitely talk to me! Or actually, talk to me regardless. =)
Beyond FBLA, I love listening to music (especially stuff from The Fray, Boys Like Girls, One Republic, All Time Low, Switchfoot, Jack's Mannequin, Panic! At the Disco, and the list goes on... anyone interested in alternative rock?), late night gchatting, eating sushi/pasta/chipotle/quality pizza, and talking about classes/colleges (yes I'll admit, I'm an absolute nerd- I can help you with chem if you need!).
If you are ever in need of comps help, or even if you just want to get to know me, please ASK! I am here for you, and I promise I'll do my very best to help you out. Let's dominate at competitions and just generally have an awesome year. =)

Barak Gila, Manager of Individual Competitions
Hey everyone! My name is Barak, and I'm super excited to be your Manager of Individual Competitions! My FBLA journey started when I was a freshman, when I chose to join the club because of its energetic, passionate officers. I soon became part of the FBLA family. I've competed in Economics and in Business Ethics, and I've had a great time at meetings, fundraisers, and especially conferences. States was really fun, and Nationals in Nashville was phenomenal – I was awed by the awards ceremony, in a huge auditorium with 7,000 people.
Besides FBLA, I enjoy playing the saxophone, listening to music (I love artists as varied as Black Eyed Peas and The Beatles), traveling (especially to relaxing, warm places like Hawaii and Palm Springs), and, most of all, surfing the internet. I love plenty of nerdy sites like Wikipedia and xkcd.com (which is totally awesome), but I also constantly use IM and Facebook.
Feel free to talk to me about FBLA, complain about your competition, or ramble about anything else. I look forward to working with you this year!

Eric Wong, State Parliamentarian
Hey everyone! I'm Eric, your Californa FBLA State Parliamentarian, acting as a state liaison for the Monta Vista chapter. My FBLA journey began when I was convinced by a close friend that I shadowed in 8th grade to join this amazing organization. Not only have I gained valuable leadership skills and life experiences, but I have gained a large network of friends from around the nation.
Competitions that I have competed in are Parliamentary Procedure, FBLA Principles and Procedures and Business Communications. My junior year, I also served as Bay Section Parliamentarain.
In my free time, I enjoy my music (metal, classical, and Disney), playing volleyball, playing piano, and watching the absolute coolest show on Earth, Gossip Girl! FBLA can shape each of our high school opportunities, if we invest ourselves in the journey. Feel free to talk to me about any questions related to FBLA, or just anything about life that comes to mind. And together, we will "Suit Up for Success" with California FBLA!

Hung-Jen Wu, Bay Section Vice President
Hi, I'm Hung-Jen, your Bay Section Vice President, and Chapter Liaison. My job is to serve as Monta Vista FBLA's ambassador to the Bay Section of California FBLA. I joined FBLA because I wanted to enhance my speaking skills for use in the business world. (I'd say I'm halfway there.) It is my goal to offer members interactive business opportunities, which can provide a competitive edge both in education and in life.
To me, FBLA is a haven of opportunity. While I progressed slowly in terms of competitions, I took advantage of everything else FBLA offered: from working with the best mentor in the world to working with NASA; it really makes one wonder why some people bother joining other clubs. FBLA has vibrantly defined the Hellenistic years of my high school life that I plan to enter the business field in college. On top of meeting a majority of my friends in this organization, FBLA has been phenomenal. I hope you'll have a wonderful experience with us next year and also become a part of this amazing legacy.
